Golf Cart Battery Charging | Battery Charging Tips | Golf Cart Battery

Golf cart battery charging, in reference to standard lead-acid golf cart batteries, isn’t always as simple as just plugging the cart in or periodically refilling the water levels of the batteries. However, optimizing the performance and getting the most life out of the battery as possible can require additional steps to make sure that the batteries are functioning the absolute best they can.

Golf Cart Battery Charging Algorithm

golf cart battery charging, battery charging tips, golf cart batteryMost golf cart chargers use a 3-stage charging algorithm, consisting of a bulk charge stage, absorption charge stage, and finish charge stage. This algorithm determines how much power returns to the battery at various intervals, in order to make sure it is not undercharged or overcharged. During the bulk charge stage, about 80% of the discharged battery power will be recharged, usually taking around 4-8 hours depending on how low the battery charge was. The second stage, the absorption charge stage, the charge current slowly decreases until the 100% of the discharged battery power is recharged – however, this does not mean the battery is fully recharged. The final stage, the finish charge stage, slightly and safely overcharges the battery to account for efficiency losses. When using the right size charger, the battery is safely overcharged without damage.

In order to fully optimize the performance and life of lead-acid batteries, it’s recommended that the properly sized charger for the amp-hour (AH) capacity is used. The bulk charge stage of the charging algorithm should have a charge current of approximately 10% of the 20 hour capacity of the batteries, and the finish charge stage should have a charge current of about 3% of the 20 hour capacity of the batteries. The 20 hour capacity can be found on the battery’s sticker.

The voltage output of the charger should be sized to the number of cells connected in series in the battery pack. You find this by taking the number of cells connected in series times 2 volts per cell. A battery pack with 24 cells connected in series will use a 48 volt charger. The charger should also be able to provide an on-charge voltage of at least 2.6 volts per cell. A 48 volt charger for a 48 volt battery pack, therefore, should be able to provide at least 62.4 volts on a charge in order to completely charge the battery pack.

Depth of Discharge Meaning

When reading about lead-acid batteries, you may come across the term “depth of discharge”, or DOD. Simply put, the DOD refers to how much energy is cycled into and out of the battery on a given cycle, and is expressed as a percentage of the total capacity of the battery. For example, a battery that has been drained by 30% has a 30% DOD, and 70% of its capacity remains. It’s important to understand DOD because the more frequently a lead-acid battery is discharged and recharged, the shorter its lifespan will be. When the battery percentage gets down very low and is then recharged, this can shorten the life of the battery as well. To help with this, many battery companies recommend a 50% DOD. We have more on our 50% charging recommendation for our rental carts further down below.

Golf Cart Battery Charging Tips

golf cart battery charging, battery charging tips, golf cart batteryWhen charging lead-acid golf cart batteries, it’s important to do it in a well-ventilated area. One of our recommendations is also to lift up the seat that covers the batteries – in 4 passenger carts, they are most often under the front 2 seats, and 6 passenger carts mostly have them under the middle row of seats – either before or directly after plugging in the charger. This is because when a lead-acid battery system is plugged in, as it begins charging, it can release hazardous fumes from the chemicals inside the batteries. Build-up of these fumes under the seats can be dangerous, so to avoid this, either leave the seat up as the batteries charge, or lift the seat and allow any possible fumes to clear out and ventilate before putting the seat back down.

Charge batteries as soon as possible after discharging. As a golf cart sits idle, even if it’s not on, the batteries will slowly lose charge, just like your phone might when it sits for a while without charging. Therefore, to keep your batteries charged and possibly increase their life cycles, plug in the cart after use and make sure to unplug the charger once it’s fully charged. Use the right sized charger to prevent overcharging as well. Check your electrolyte levels monthly and keep your batteries filled –  use distilled or deionized water and cover the plates before charging, but don’t fully refill the batteries until after they are done charging to prevent overflow.

If storing your golf cart longer than a month, fully charge the batteries prior to storage. We have another blog with more on golf cart long-term self-storage, with additional tips for storing your golf cart on your own property.

Our 50% Golf Cart Battery Charging Recommendation

When renting one of our street legal golf carts, we always recommend that customers charge the batteries when the cart starts to get to around a 50% charge. Generally, during rentals, people use the carts during the day and plug them in overnight, and if the battery percentage doesn’t drop too low, most of the time the cart is fully charged by the next morning. When lead-acid batteries get too low, they take a much longer time to recharge back to 100% – depending on the cart, some lead-acid batteries can take up to 16 hours to fully recharge if the batteries were run down too low. Some carts, mostly older ones, won’t even respond to a regular golf cart charger if the battery is too low, and need to be supercharged – similar to jumping a car – before they can be plugged in to a standard charger. If the battery percentage is kept monitored and does not drop too far below 50%, the batteries will most often take about 6-8 hours to fully recharge. This is why we recommend plugging the cart in at night.

NOTE: Watch for Surface Charge

Sometimes, you may plug in a golf cart and after only a couple hours, the state of charge meter may say the cart is 100% charged. However, this is only a surface charge, meaning that it appears that the batteries are fully charged, but have not had a chance to deeply absorb all the power that they need. This cart will drive for a short time with regular battery charge decay, then suddenly begin to drop more rapidly if the battery has only had this beginning charging stage. To make sure the battery is fully charged: in our Advanced EV carts, the onboard Eagle charger will have a fan that comes on when the cart is plugged in, and when completely, deeply recharged, the fan will shut off. For carts that don’t have an onboard charger with indicators such as this, the charger will often give an indication with a light that the golf cart is fully recharged. NOTE: Not all chargers or carts make a noise when they are charging. The charger should give an indication with a light or something similar (a meter, for instance) that the cart is charging. To make sure the charger is working, you can always test the voltage of the batteries before and after charging with a voltage tester.

105AH Allied Lithium Battery | Golf Cart Lithium Battery | Allied Lithium Batteries

We recently published a blog all about our now available 30AH Allied lithium batteries, which need a minimum of two for 60AH and can have a maximum of 6 for 180AH. As well as the 30AH Allied lithium batteries, we’ve recently begun stocking the new, high-tech, high BMS, high-quality 105AH Allied lithium battery. This battery outperforms most other lithium batteries as it has high discharge capability: 180AH continuous, 350AH peak, and 600AH peak instantaneous, which is much higher than most other batteries. The 105AH Allied lithium battery is also backed by an 8 year manufacturer’s warranty from the long established, American company.

Unlike the 30AH Allied lithium batteries, only one of the 105AH Allied lithium battery is needed for the golf cart. When removing a system of lead-acid batteries – often 6 to 8 70-pound batteries – and replacing them with a single, 108 pound Allied battery, between approximately 300 and 400 pounds of weight is removed from the golf cart, greatly improving performance. The Allied battery is also easy to install, and is referred to as “drop-in ready”.

The battery is great for long-term storage, as it has its own storage mode. To store correctly: fully charge the battery, unplug charger, flip the golf cart switch to tow mode, and press the power button on the side of the Allied battery. This puts it into storage mode – great for snowbirds leaving their carts in storage. The 105AH Allied battery also works with upgraded motors and controllers. From fleet to performance, Allied has the right battery to run your golf cart or ATV vehicle perfectly.

What is a high BMS?

A battery management system (BMS) is an electronic regulator that controls and maintains the status of the battery, such as by providing battery protection, estimating the battery’s operational status, optimizing performance, and reporting the operational status to external devices, such as the Allied app described below. Our BMS is integrated in each battery and will detect any problems with the performance of the battery and shut down any cells not functioning properly. The BMS will also protect from over-charging or undercharging of the batteries. FedEx and UPS have approved our product for air and ground shipping.

Bluetooth Enabled

The Allied “commercial” line has a Bluetooth enabled BMS that communicates directly with the Allied app. Available for Apple and Android phones, it will automatically setup with the battery. Download the free Allied battery app to manage the heath, history and current status of your battery.

105 Allied Lithium Battery Charger

Included with the battery is a charger, state of charge meter, and voltage reducer. The charger plug is the EZGO 48V 3-pin triangular plug. The Allied 15A charger uses OEM plug and will use the existing port just as before. A full 48V setup will charge in 2 to 4 hours versus lead-acid batteries that require 8 to 10 hours. Opportunity charging is also an option – this means the lithium battery can be topped off at any time without harming the batteries, just like charging a cell phone. Lead-acid batteries do not have this feature – attempting to top off lead-acid batteries may damage and reduce the lifespan.

In order to maximize the life of the lithium battery, we require the Allied lithium battery charger. Allied lithium chargers come with OEM plugs, charge the batteries quickly, and turn off when charging is complete. Allied’s rugged BMS is installed in every golf and marine battery. Our state of the art battery management system protects the batteries from under voltage, over voltage, and will shut the battery down if a cell is out of balance. LifePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) is the safest battery chemistry available, and is non-combustible and non-flammable.

The myriad benefits of switching a golf cart from a lead-acid battery system to a lithium have been a high point of interest for us, and we are constantly working to ensure that the batteries you receive are exactly the batteries you need for your golf cart needs. To learn more about why switching to a lithium battery is more eco-friendly, safer, and more cost-effective in the long run, check out our blog on the benefits of lithium batteries. For more about the lithium battery brands we stock, visit our main website‘s page on our lithium golf cart batteries.

Allied Lithium Batteries | Golf Cart Battery Lithium | 48V Lithium Battery

On a previous blog, Aventura Golf Cart gives several examples as to how switching to a lithium golf cart battery could provide several benefits for the golf cart, including a much longer driving range, less weight for the cart, many more battery charging cycles, zero harmful emissions, a much faster charging time, and up to 10 years of life. These are our Roy Pow lithium batteries, available as 56AH, 105AH, and 160AH. We’re pleased to announce that along with our Roy Pow lithium batteries, we now have 48V Allied lithium batteries available for sale.

allied lithium batteries, golf cart battery lithium, 48v lithium battery

Allied lithium batteries, 30AH each, are different from Roy Pow in that a minimum of two are required, for 60AH. This will give a cart a range of approximately 30-40 miles per charge, and each additional battery will add 15-20 miles of range. For example, 3 x 48V 30AH (90AH total) batteries will have a range of 45-60 miles per charge. Up to 6 can be installed. They are the same size as your current lead-acid batteries which allow you to convert your vehicle from lead-acid to lithium in less than 30 minutes – simply remove the lead-acid batteries and replace with the Allied lithium batteries, attach cables in parallel, secure holding bracket, and the install is complete! They are approximately 1/4th the weight of lead-acid batteries, reducing the overall weight of your cart by 300lbs. This sizable reduction of weight has benefits for all aspects of your cart, including tires, brakes and suspension parts.

• Mileages are based on stock fleet carts. Adjust for non-stock items: upgraded motors / controllers, AC units, older carts, etc.

• 2 x 48V 30AH batteries are required to run the cart efficiently.

• For carts with upgraded motors or controllers, 3 x 48V 30AH (90AH total) batteries (or more) are required.

• In order to maximize the life of the lithium battery, we require the use of the Allied charger.

• Includes OEM plugs, charge the batteries quickly and turn off when charging is complete.

• Additional batteries can be added to the cart up to 2 years after installing the first two or more! Great for users who want additional run-time after initial install.

Allied 15amp charger uses the cart’s OEM plug and will use the existing port just as before. A full 48V setup will charge in 3-5 hours versus lead acid batteries that require 10-12 hours. They also use opportunity charging, meaning you can top off your lithium batteries any time you want without harming the batteries (just like your cell phone). You cannot do this with lead-acid without damaging and reducing the life of the batteries.

In order to maximize the life of the lithium battery, we require the Allied lithium battery charger. Allied lithium chargers come with OEM plugs, charge the batteries quickly, and turn off when charging is complete. IMPORTANT: Chargers are sold separately.

Included with every set of batteries is also our state of charge (SOC) meter, with an LCD screen that provides you an accurate percentage reading.

Allied lithium batteries are zero maintenance!

No watering, no acid, and no corrosion, meaning there is no need for rubber gloves and safety glasses when handling our batteries.

Tested and Safe

Allied Battery has over 30 years of experience in lithium and safety. LifePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) is one of the safest battery chemistry available.

Our BMS (battery management system) in each battery will detect any problems with the performance of the battery and shut down any cells not functioning properly. The BMS will also protect the batteries from any over-charging or under charging of the batteries.

FedEx and UPS have approved our product for air and ground shipping.

Allied lithium batteries are great for long term storage

For vehicles left in storage either for long winters, or snow birds leaving their cart for months, lithium batteries only lose 3-5% of charge per month. Lead-acid batteries will lose up to 33% of charge per month when not on the charger.

8 Year Warranty

Allied lithium batteries have a 8 year warranty to guarantee you will receive the full value of your investment.

Lead-acid batteries will last just 3-5 years based on how well you maintain the batteries, while lithium batteries under normal use will provide you over 10 years of maintenance free service!

Golf Cart Brands | EZGO Club Car Yamaha Golf Cart | Evolution Golf Cart

Aventura Golf Cart is one of our many golf cart delivery locations, our main store and showroom located in Riviera Beach, FL. At this store, we have many different golf cart brands available for sale and for rental. We have various new and used golf carts available for sale; to view the used golf carts we have available, visit our used carts page on our main website, updated frequently with new arrivals added and sold carts taken off!

Below are just a few of the many golf cart brands we have available for sale and/or rental.

Golf Cart Brands

EZGO, Club Car, Yamaha Golf Cart Brands

golf cart brands, ezgo club car yamaha golf cart, evolution golf cartThese are easily the most common golf carts, and you’ve likely seen one or more either on a golf course, being used for security in a plaza parking lot, transporting passengers around a job or event site, and many other uses. They are not readily made to be street legal, so you’ll often use them for event transportation or campsites. However, they can be upgraded with the safety features required to become street legal, but they do not come standard with these.

golf cart brands, ezgo club car yamaha golf cart, evolution golf cart

Because they are so common, they are also incredibly easy to find parts for – we have a variety of accessories and replacement parts available for all these carts at our parts website, Prime Cart Parts, where you can find not only parts specific to these carts, but universal accessories that can be installed on these carts and many others.

Evolution

Evolution golf carts are currently the best golf carts in the industry, new models coming from the factory with several accessories already installed as a standard – this includes custom wheels with color-matched 14 inch rims, two-tone seats, a backup camera connected to a 9-inch LED display screen – this screen also connects you to the radio and Bluetooth options, where you can connect your phone and talk hands-free as well as play music from your phone -, and a lithium battery with a range of about 40-50 miles on a single charge and the capability of fully recharging in approximately 5 hours! With an Evolution, you won’t need a lithium battery upgrade, but for other carts that you’re thinking about converting to lithium, check out the lithium batteries that we sell – Roy Pow brand, leading in the industry -, including how you can purchase one of your own and have it shipped right to you.

Advanced EV

golf cart brands, ezgo club car yamaha golf cart, evolution golf cartOur Advanced EV carts make up a large part of both our rentals and sales fleet, many of our street legal golf cart rental carts being Advanced EV carts. We offer various golf cart accessories for Advanced EV carts as well, including but not limited to: custom two-tone seats available in a variety of colors, many colors of custom steering wheels, locking dashes that are installed to create a locking compartment in the dash, black, white, and tan enclosures, a front or inner dash basket, and side nerf bars for 4 or 6 passenger carts. To see our Advanced EV accessories, along with our various other golf cart brands accessories, visit our accessories board on Pinterest.

golf cart brands, ezgo club car yamaha golf cart, evolution golf cartThe Advanced EV comes in a variety of colors, and comes with the standard features of: headlights, tail lights and brake lights, turn signals, horn, speedometer, odometer, state-of-charge meter, dual USB outlets, side-mounted rear view mirrors, heavy duty rust-resistant convertible rear seat/cargo platform with grab bar and foot rest, and 3 point retractable seat belts and grab handles for all passengers. A tinted folding windshield is also available. Many of the features listed above are required for a golf cart to be registered as an LSV, so with its multiple safety features and maximum speed of 24mph, the Advanced EV is ready to become registered as a street legal vehicle.

Bintelli Beyond and Bintelli Nemesis

We have both the Bintelli Beyond and Bintelli Nemesis golf carts, both incredibly high quality carts with custom two-tone seats as the standard. As low speed vehicles (LSVs), Bintelli carts come with a 17-digit VIN number, licensing them for street use on any public roads with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less. Their multiple accessories like head lights and tail lights, seat belts, and windshield wipers make them able to be used on streets just like a regular car. Their maximum forward speed is approximately 20-25 mph, and depending on the type of cart and battery, their running distance can reach between 30-40 miles, with the option of upgrading to a longer range battery for an additional fee. Each Bintelli electric vehicle is built, fully inspected, and shipped from the home facility of Charleston, South Carolina, where a highly trained team of American workers puts every cart through strict quality checks and control. Bintelli carts are assembled from electrical parts purchased from all-American, industry leading name-brand suppliers, and offers many varieties of electric vehicles to ensure that there truly is a cart for every driver.

Kodiak

golf cart brands, ezgo club car yamaha golf cart, evolution golf cartWe have a blog all about the Kodiak golf cart, a cart unique for its folding back foot rest that can save about 2 feet of space, and the largest golf car cabin in its class! The extra space and legroom makes the Kodiak ideal for drivers and passengers who are tall. Available as 4 and 6 passenger models, either lifted or nonlifted, the Kodiak can reach a maximum speed of 25mph, and comes with all features necessary for street legal registration – turn signals, headlights and tail lights, brake lights, a horn, and side view mirrors. Kodiak carts are not yet registered until the buyer decides, making them street ready rather than immediately street legal. All Kodiak carts have custom three-tone seats, a thick tinted folding windshield, hydraulic disc brakes, and a high/low switch next to the state of charge meter. Kodiak golf carts also come with an Eco lithium battery, a 48 volt 105AH lithium battery that is not only 80% lighter than a standard lead-acid battery system, but 30% lighter than other golf cart lithium batteries on the market.

Our Own Golf Cart Brands

America EV’s California Roadster, 39 Roadster, EV Wagon, EV Luxe, and Mokee are some of our own golf carts, assembled from the ground up and strictly quality controlled and inspected. All of our carts can also be customized with non-standard paint, and our Roadsters also have the option of the woody paint job – we have a blog all about that here – and colored hood flames cascading down the hood to the front fenders, one of the most popular customizations. America EV carts reach a maximum speed of 24mph, and come with all safety features needed to be registered as LSVs. Like the Kodiak golf cart, the America EV carts are street ready – not yet registered until the buyer decides.

Gas Golf Cart | Aventura Gas Golf Carts | Utility Golf Cart

Many people prefer a gas golf cart over an electric one, or need one or several utility carts – most utility carts are gas – on a construction site with no easy access to an outlet to charge an electric one. With so many electric carts, gas carts are becoming harder to find. However, we have both new and used gas golf carts available for sale, as well as for rental!

It’s very difficult to find a gas cart that’s street legal, since laws have changed to only allow electric carts – this is because electric carts give off no emissions, and are able to maintain a speed of 24mph, the required speed golf carts must go in order to be allowed on roads 35mph or less. Street legal golf carts must also have a minimum of 4 passengers – 2 passenger carts are not street legal.

NOTE: The used carts pictured below may not be available after the time of writing. However, we may have similar used carts – gas or electric – in stock. Our American Landmaster carts are new and are available in several different models and colors. For more information on what’s available, use our contact form to get in touch with us.

Roadster Golf Cart | America EV Golf Cart | California Roadster Golf Cart

Our specialty and luxury golf cart company, America EV, is proud to present our newest website – Roadster Golf Cart, featuring the 1932 California Roadster and 39 Roadster for sale and for rental! Based off the vehicles after which they are named, America EV’s Roadsters are much more affordable than their luxury car counterparts. They are assembled from the ground up with brand new, strictly and professionally quality checked parts in the United States, in our home headquarters located in West Palm Beach, Florida. Standard colors for the California Roadster are blue, yellow, red, white, and black, while the standard colors of the 39 Roadster are red, orange, yellow, black, and white. All standard color options are shown in the gallery below.

roadster golf cart, america ev golf cart, california roadster golf cartBoth Roadsters have the same safety features required for golf carts to become certified and registered as low speed vehicles (LSVs), meaning that they can be driven on roads with a posted speed limit of 35mph or less. They have a maximum speed of 24mph, and come with headlights, taillights, brake lights, side mirrors, horn, and turn signals – features necessary to be registered as street legal. The frames of the Roadsters are made from rugged and corrosion-proof aluminum I-beams, and are also the only golf carts to feature a standard 4-wheel braking system, including the use of front wheel hydraulic disk brakes. With standard batteries, they can travel approximately 20 to 25 miles on a charge, and also have the option of upgrading to a lithium battery for a much longer range. We have a blog all about the benefits of upgrading to a lithium battery here, and a website for more information about purchasing one.

roadster golf cart, america ev golf cart, california roadster golf cartOne of the most popular customization options is the colored hood flames paint job, right up there with the woody paint job, where the sides, hood, back, and grill trim are airbrushed with a wood-grain pattern – we have a blog about it here. For an additional cost, the flames can be added to the California Roadster or 39 Roadster, and the body of the cart can either be a standard or custom color. Other accessory upgrades include a hard-top color matched roof with stainless steel supports – featured in some of the images on this page -, custom rims and tires, 8 color neon lights under the cart body and/or roof (if applicable), a backup camera connected to an LCD screen, and more. All of these accessories and more are available for purchase at our golf cart accessories store, Prime Cart Parts – or, for an additional fee, you can contact us to arrange to have your Roadster customized to your exact liking with the colors, custom graphics, and accessories you desire. The gallery below features many customized California Roadsters and 39 Roadsters.

If you would like to know more about one of the specific Roadsters, check out our blogs on the California Roadster and on the 39 Roadster, featuring large galleries of standard and custom carts. For more on our other America EV golf carts, including the EV Wagon, EV Luxe, and Mokee, visit our America EV website. To read more about the specifications and features of the Roadsters, visit our Roadster Golf Cart website and check out the cart of your choice.

Replacement Golf Cart Parts | Advanced EV Replacement Parts

Not only does our golf cart accessories site Prime Cart Parts offer a variety of accessories for golf cart brands such as EZGO, Club Car, Yamaha, Advanced EV, Evolution, and America EV, we also offer replacement golf cart parts for all the brands just named! If you own a golf cart and had a specific part break, such as a roof, windshield, or onboard charger, we offer replacements for all those and more.

Replacement Advanced EV Parts

replacement golf cart parts, advanced ev replacement partsAdvanced EV parts also fit Icon® golf carts, and the 48 volt charging cord actually fits the Evolution golf cart as well. The three-pin design connects to the cart and any standard 110V house outlet. Simple products such as a key, a black rubber floor mat (designed for use in 2 and 4 passenger carts, not 6 passengers), and steering wheel with a score card holder are available along with a flip windshield, with the option for clear and tinted, and a brand new, high quality Eagle onboard charger in case your old one fails. More complex replacement golf cart parts are available, such as these shortened roof supports – shorter than factory roof supports by 4 inches, these allow you to lower the height of your golf cart if it’s too tall for your garage, and we recommend having them professionally installed -, the steering box assembly rack and pinion that will fit NON-LIFTED Advanced EV and Icon® golf carts and includes the tie rod ends for a complete new install, and this replacement ignition (that comes with a key) for not only Advanced EV and Icon® carts, but will also fit Edison, Gorilla, Aetric, and Volt carts.

Our Advanced EV parts will NOT fit the Advent model – if you’re unsure of what parts will fit your golf cart, use our contact page to get in touch with us.

Replacement EZGO, Club Car, and Yamaha Parts

replacement golf cart parts, advanced ev replacement partsThese three golf cart brands are among some of the most popular and most well-known, and we have many replacement parts available for all of them. Pictured right is the Club Car DS adjustable front and rear LED light kit, which comes with 2 LED headlights, 2 LED taillights, and one basic wiring harness, along with instructions and stainless steel hardware. Along with the 88 inch black roof, made for these three brands but also a universal fit for most 4 passenger golf carts, we have a 112 inch extended roof for 6 passenger EZGO, Club Car, and Yamaha carts. They come in black, white, or tan, and have an aluminum side rail for stability – easily installs as well. In addition, we have a two piece clear folding windshield that comes with all installation hardware, made from a thick, rigid plexiglass, and a large, 43″ x 27″ x 8″ utility box bed, made from high quality aluminum and featuring a locking rear slip down tailgate – mounting hardware is NOT included.

NOTE: All roofs and the utility box bed are pickup only from from Riviera Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, or Vero Beach.  No shipping.

Replacement Evolution Parts

Currently, we offer a few replacement golf cart parts for Evolution golf carts, which includes the charging cord mentioned earlier – it fits Advanced EV, Icon®, and Evolution carts. Other parts we offer for the Evolution include a clear flip windshield, which includes the hardware for an easy installation, and fits most 2, 4, 6, and 8 passenger Evolution carts, and a replacement ignition assembly that includes two keys.

Replacement America EV Parts

Our own specialty golf cart company, America EV, also has replacement golf cart parts available on our Prime Cart Parts website. The California Roadster and 39 Roadster are two of the most popular carts, and we have replacement headlights for both the California and 39 Roadster, both coming as a pair. We also have some more complex parts such as this replacement ignition with two keys included, a brake cylinder, and a new complete rear axle electric differential brake hub.

If you’re interested in learning more about America EV carts, check out our website or take a look at the gallery we featured on our recent blog about one of the many customization options for the California Roadster cart.

Juno Beach Golf Cart

palm beach county golf cart rental, new golf cart rental locationsBetween Jupiter and Riviera Beach – where our main store and showroom is located – is Juno Beach, right at the top of the Palm Beach Shores area on the beach. This area is filled with multiple golf courses, clustered right around Palm Beach Gardens. Golf courses and country clubs in and around Juno Beach include Seminole Golf Club, Lost Tree Club, and North Palm Beach Country Club. Off A1A are many access points to the beach, where you can park in a beach parking space just like a normal car, and enjoy the scenery of the beach. The golf cart is secured by the parking brake, either manually activated by stepping on the button on the brake pedal or pulling up a lever in the middle of the cabin (parking brakes vary by cart), or automatically activated if it’s an electronic brake.

Vero Beach Golf Cart Rental + Vero Golf Cart Rental

Vero Beach also has our newest store and showroom, and you can view some of the golf carts and golf cart accessories we have in stock by checking out our Google Places store.

Both locations are right next to each other, with multiple nature parks and golf courses scattered throughout the two cities. Lagoon Greenway is an example of one of Vero Beach’s hiking areas, with long, scenic trails and a path right to the lagoon. Nearby is the McKee Botanical Gardens, an 18-acre patch of native and exotic plants and trees. Along the edge of Vero Beach are the Spoil Islands, artificial islands accessible only by boat that were created by channel dredging in an effort to promote Florida boating and commerce. Many visitors use small shallow-draft personal powerboats, and other boating vessels such as kayaks, canoes, and sailboats are allowed as well, and available for rent in many areas around the Islands. Camping on the recreational Islands operates on a first-come-first-serve basis, and is free with no reservations required.

Boynton Beach Golf Cart Rental

palm beach county golf cart rental, new golf cart rental locationsRight by Boynton Beach is the Village of Golf, a small village built right on a golf course. Many more golf courses besides the ones clustered here can also be found in Boynton Beach, such as Westchester Country Club (open to the public!), Pine Tree Golf Club, and Indian Spring Country Club. Another nearby small town is Manalapan, a beach side community to which we’ve done several deliveries. Close by is Lantana, where our golf cart service center is actually located – if you’re in need of service for your golf cart, we can pick up and drop off once the work is done! Visit our service page to learn more about what brands of golf carts we repair.

Delray Beach Golf Cart Rental

palm beach county golf cart rental, new golf cart rental locationsDelray Beach is almost directly between two of our showrooms – our main Riviera Beach location, and our smaller store in Fort Lauderdale, and right below Boynton Beach. Golf carts are very popular in Delray – we’ve rented and sold many of our golf carts to customers in Delray. Interesting and noteworthy places to check out in Delray Beach include museums such as Spady Museum, with exhibits on African-American history, and Sandoway Discovery Center, a science museum where you can feed sharks and stingrays. Various nature parks lie along the side of the beach, and as mentioned before, golf carts can be parked in regular beachside parking spots just like a car. Several golf courses and country clubs are also dispersed throughout the city, such as Delray Beach Golf Club and Lakeview Golf Club. There’s even a miniature golf course for the kids – Putt’n Around right near Federal Highway (US-1).

Other New Locations

Our new locations aren’t all in the area of Palm Beach county golf cart rental – some are south and closer to our Fort Lauderdale location. These include Lighthouse Point Golf Cart Rental – close to Deerfield -, Southwest Ranches Golf Cart Rental – out southwest near Weston -, and a Miami location: Miami Gardens Golf Cart Rental. Check our rental rates for pricing information – we offer various packages for multiple days (3 days, 5 days, 7 days, etc.), and delivery and pickup is an additional fee. For more on delivery and pickup fees, use our contact page to get in touch with us, or use any of the links above to be taken to their respective Facebook pages and contact us on Messenger.

Street Legal Cart Rental | Recommended and Legal Streets in Fort Lauderdale to Drive a Golf Cart

A street legal golf cart, referred to as a low speed vehicle (LSV), can reach a maximum speed of 24mph, meaning it is allowed to be driven on roads with a posted speed limit of 35mph or less. There are several roads in Fort Lauderdale – where one of our store locations is – that are 35mph or less, and many that increase to 45mph, or are 35mph but just too crowded. If you’re coming to Fort Lauderdale for vacation and are interested in a street legal cart rental, especially if you’re from out of state, this guide is here to give recommendations for the safest, most effective, and street legal roads to drive a golf cart.

If you’re in any other south Florida city and are interested in renting a golf cart with us, use our rental application for a quote! We deliver and pick up!

Las Olas Boulevard: Allowed (and highly recommended!)

If you’ve been following the Aventura Golf Cart blogs, you’ll have seen our destination recommendation blog on Las Olas. Las Olas Boulevard is one of Fort Lauderdale’s most popular areas, filled with all kinds of shops, galleries, restaurants, and more. You’ll see quite a few golf carts here as well, since the speed limit in the main area goes between 25mph and 30mph, depending on where you are, and once across the drawbridge over the Middle River, it goes up to 35mph.

State Road A1A: Allowed

Also called 17th Street, State Road A1A goes all the way up the coast right next to the beach, and most areas are 30mph. You can park a street legal cart rental just like a car, and the parallel parking at the beach is made easier by the golf cart’s smaller size. You can travel quite the distance with a golf cart along the beach road – approximately 20 to 25 miles on a single charge. When your golf cart starts getting down to around 50% charged, you’ll want to take it back to your home or hotel and charge it, since the lower it gets, the longer it takes to fully recharge. We recommend charging it overnight.

7th Avenue/Avenue of the Arts: Allowed

street legal cart rental, fort lauderdale golf cart rental

Right off 7th Avenue and Broward Boulevard is where our Fort Lauderdale location is – you can find our address and other contact information here. This takes you right through the heart and soul of the city, and past various murals and street art from local artists. You can also find a lot of car repair shops in the more industrial area of 7th Avenue. Check out restaurants such as Miami Grill, and come down 1st street (our street) to eat at Vegan Junkie or Orchestrated Minds Brewing. Enjoy the murals on our store’s building and on nearby businesses as well.

Additional roads for a street legal cart rental:

  • Andrews Avenue
  • Bayview Drive
  • State Road 811/3rd Avenue (Turns into 4th Avenue/Wilton Drive once north of Sunrise Boulevard)

street legal cart rental, fort lauderdale golf cart rentalBroward Boulevard: Not Recommended

Technically, a golf cart is allowed to be driven on Broward Boulevard, as it is a 35mph road, but it’s also a very crowded road. Lanes merge and split in various areas, and the road also crosses US Highway 1 (US-1), where the speed limit is 45mph. Cars speeding through this area, as well as through different parts of Broward Boulevard, combined with the suddenly merging lanes, can be difficult to navigate for even the locals.

Recommendation: Try taking 6th street, Sistrunk Boulevard, instead. If you’re heading to the beach, take 4th or 6th street east to 3rd Avenue, then go south until you can turn left onto Las Olas Boulevard.

Sunrise Boulevard: Not Recommended

Some parts of Sunrise Boulevard are 35mph, but there are also some areas that increase to 40mph. There’s also an area where it splits into US-1, and this can be confusing or difficult to navigate for those unfamiliar with the area. As a road that goes through industrial areas, Sunrise Boulevard is surrounded by car shops, meaning that there could be cars parked in the road outside of shops. It is also just a big, crowded main road, with a lot of cars, many of them speeding.

Recommendation: If you’re going east of US-1, towards the beach, take Las Olas Boulevard. If you’re going west of US-1, use Sistrunk Boulevard (6th street).

Oakland Park Boulevard: Not Recommended

Oakland Park Boulevard is another crowded road, especially as it gets close to US-1. There are a lot of big stores and plazas along the way, as well as speeding cars. It is a 35mph road, but it’s not recommended due to the many lanes and fast crossroads.

Recommendation: Take 26th street instead – however, remember that there is no beach access from there. If you’re trying to get to the beach, it’s best to take Las Olas Boulevard to State Road A1A, as A1A will take you right along the side of the beach.

US-1: Not Allowedstreet legal cart rental, fort lauderdale golf cart rental

US Highway 1, or Federal Highway, is 45mph in most areas. Golf carts are not allowed on US-1. Streets close to US-1 or roads that cross over US-1 can be used instead.

Recommendation: State Road 811/3rd Avenue (turns into 4th Avenue later). Make sure to turn onto a different street before Dixie Highway, as this is another road that is not 35mph. Andrews Avenue and State Road A1A also work, even though they aren’t as close to US-1 as 3rd Avenue.

Powerline Road: Not Allowed

As with US-1, most of Powerline Road, or 9th Avenue, is 45mph. As with US-1, nearby streets that are 35mph or less can be used instead, such as residential side streets.

Recommendation: If using main roads instead of residential, use Andrews Avenue for North-South and 26th Street for East-West, or any of the other recommended alternate streets.
